" I want to thank Colombia , the Colombian people for so many messages, the institution, the Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation, the doctors, and everyone who has helped us," Hakim said.

Afterward, he took the opportunity to thank his family and God for their unconditional support and the strength to continue facing the process.

"I thank God and we continue forward with great faith," Dr. Hakim concluded in his video, posted on social media.

María Claudia Tarazona, Miguel Uribe's wife, and the Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation have been tasked with informing Colombians about the senator and presidential candidate's health.
